Improving the Way We Work

The November 12

The November 12, 2003 Friends of Schoodic meeting focused on organizational concerns:  Friends of Schoodic's goals, how it does business, what the members would like to do in the coming year, and so on.  If you are interested in the details, see Bill Zoellick's notes from the meeting.

One key outcome from that meeting was the decision to create a written set of "operating procedures" for the organization.  Since Friends of Schoodic operates within the organizational framework of Schoodic Futures, its parent organization, there is no need for a formal set of bylaws.  On the other hand, Friends of Schoodic has grown so much in its first year, and has become so active, that it needs more formal mechanisms for recognizing members and conducting its business.

As agreed during the November 12 meeting, Nancy Horschak, Garry Levin, Tom Mayer, Bill Stone, Stan Torrey, and Bill Zoellick met to establish an initial set of operating procedures.  Friends of Schoodic will adopt a final version of these procedures at its December 10 meeting.
