What follows is a list of the different meetings for which we have notes available on the web.  

2006

August 9, 2006 Program Presentation by Rob Brooks of Penn State regarding landscape scale wetlands management and conservation.  Also, a presentation regarding the Winter Harbor Water Company conservation easement proposal.
July 12, 2006 Short program by Dan Decker of Cornell University.  Change in picnic plans, discussion of fencepost removal, Ed Pontbriand reports on fighting fires in Arizona.
June 21, 2006 Short program on archeological work in Gouldsboro, headquartered at SERC. Update on Acadia Partners and SERC. 
May 10, 2006 Election of officers for the coming year. Discussion of how Friends of Schoodic can and should participate in volunteer activities. News about clean ups, facilities preparation, and other work in the Park.
April 12, 2006 Planning for Spring Cleanup, various volunteer opportunities, Gatehouse training, reports on Acadia Partners and Friends of Acadia research sponsorship, and a call for nominations for officers.
March 8, 2006 A busy meeting, involving summer planning and numerous updates on current activities. John Courtin, the incoming Friends of Acadia president, introduced himself to the group.
February, 2006 The regular February meeting of Friends of Schoodic, scheduled for February 8, 2006, was cancelled because of a conflict with a special town meeting in Gouldsboro.
January 11, 2006 Friends of Acadia response on NPS Management Policy changes; update on activities; newsletter plans

2005

December 14, 2005 Updates on real estate for sale along Moore Road entering the Park; update on Gatehouse; update on SERC.
November 9, 2005 Discussion of winter program to welcome area residents to the SERC campus and plans for a winter newsletter.
October 12, 2005 An end-of-season meeting with reports on SERC, the gatehouse, Artists in Residence, and other programs this summer.
September 14, 2005 Lots of activity discussed in this meeting, including fundraising, sorting of blueprints, an end of the year gatehouse summary, changes in construction plans for SERC, future cleanups, and more.
August 10, 2005 Discussion of list management and database coordination with the parent organization, reports on SEA, drawings work, and trails work, discussion of results of Walk in the Park fundraiser

2004

December 8, 2004 Planning for the coming year.
November 10, 2004 Action requesting separation from Schoodic Futures so that the group can operate within the framework of Friends of Acadia.  Discussion of next year's projects and volunteer activities.
October 13, 2004 Comments on draft General Management Plan Amendment for the Schoodic District; Motion to accept Friends of Acadia offer of merger; Appreciation for Tom Mayer's work as chairman; Dirk Faegre is acting chair
September 1, 2004 Discussion of potential merger with Friends of Acadia.
July 14, 2004 Summer picnic.  By-laws.
June 10, 2004 Outline of summer activities; initial presentation of draft bylaws.
May 12, 2004 Extensive discussion of summer volunteer work -- primarily gatehouse staffing.  Reports on bylaws, grant proposal, and SERC.
April 14, 2004 Agreement to pick up website costs, discussion and decision on membership period, discussion and decision on membership fees, Maine Community Foundation Grant proposal, dates for trails maintenance training.
March 10, 2004 Detailed plans for gatehouse staffing and training.  Further discussion of spring newsletter. Formal vote to separate from Schoodic Futures.
February 11, 2004 Election of officers for 2004, discussion of summer activities and newsletter, and discussion of separation from Schoodic Futures to establish an independent non-profit, tax exempt entity.
January 14, 2004 Installation of the initial steering committed; addition of new members; charter to Tom to set up a nominating committee for officers.

Much of the meeting was taken up with discussion of the new requirements that the Park Service will put in place for gatehouse volunteers, both in terms of training and time commitment.  There was also discussion of numerous trail and maintenance activities.

December 10, 2003 Acceptance of the operating rules developed by the group tasked to do that–the rules now go to Schoodic Futures, the FOS parent organization, for approval.  The bulk of the meeting was devoted to consideration of FOS activities for the coming year. The group also reviewed results of the voting on the logo designs, and decided to shelve logo-related activities for awhile.
November 12, 2003 This was the meeting facilitated by Ron Beard, at which the group worked through fundamental organizational issues. This was a particularly important meeting -- the ideas and issues discussed here will continue to be important areas of discussion for Friends of Schoodic for some time. 

Part of this meeting focused on issues of bylaws and organization.  We have collected bylaws from a number of sister organizations, as well as the operating procedures that emerged from the November 12 meeting.

October 8, 2003 Plans to publish a newsletter; plans to consider a new set of logo designs; substantial discussion of organizational structure issues, leading to a plan for a special meeting on the matter.
September 17 2003 Includes notes from a meeting with the Park Service in Bar Harbor concerning the Schoodic Explorer Bus service. A more serious, though brief discussion of concerns about organizational structure.
August 13, 2003 Review of volunteer activities over the summer, focusing on the gatehouse; plans for a meeting about the Schoodic Explorer Bus; website expansion ideas; a brief look a the bylaws and structure question; concern over lack of activity surrounding SERC
